Kemi Olunloyo Distances Herself from Family Following Father’s Death

In a series of candid social media posts, Kemi Olunloyo, daughter of the late former Oyo State governor Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, has publicly declared her estrangement from the Olunloyo family and stated she will not be accepting condolences following her father’s passing on April 6, 2025.

The outspoken journalist and social media personality took to her Facebook page on Wednesday to express her sentiments. She emphasized that she is no longer part of the Olunloyo family and reiterated her decision not to return to Nigeria, even in the event of her parents’ deaths.

In a video message, Kemi alleged that her father was involved in occult practices and held him responsible for causing significant distress within the family. She recounted experiences of emotional and physical hardship during her childhood, attributing these to her father’s actions. Despite these claims, she mentioned having forgiven him.

Kemi also highlighted family tensions that arose when her father married Ronke Sonaike during his 1983 governorship campaign. She claimed this union led to considerable turmoil, including alleged attempts on her mother’s life and the deterioration of sibling relationships.

These revelations have sparked widespread discussions, shedding light on the complex dynamics within the Olunloyo family and Kemi’s decision to publicly address these personal matters.
