Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has revealed how his longtime crush on Nollywood icon Genevieve Nnaji came to a heartbreaking end.

In a resurfaced confession, the Essence hitmaker admitted that he had been deeply infatuated with Genevieve while growing up, even going as far as plastering her pictures all over his space. According to him, he once dreamed of having her in his bed, but reality struck when they finally met in person.

“I really had a huge crush on Genevieve. Like, I had pictures of her all over, and I thought one day I’d have her in my bed. But when I met her, she was like my aunty and called me ‘SON.’ Then the crush just died,” Wizkid revealed.

The singer added that the unexpected turn of events left him heartbroken for weeks.

“Since I was a kid, I used to watch Genevieve’s movies, and I just fell in love with her. But when I met her and she called me her son, it broke my heart. I CRIED for weeks.”
